Britain’s tallest underground waterfall is Gaping Gill, located in the Yorkshire Dales. The waterfall inside this vast cave system drops 98 meters (322 feet) from the surface into the main chamber, making it the tallest unbroken underground waterfall in Britain.
Gaping Gill is one of the largest known underground chambers in the UK, and the waterfall is formed by Fell Beck, which plunges into the cavern. The site is accessible to the public during special caving club winch events, where visitors can be lowered into the cave to witness this spectacular natural wonder.
